You know, I had lost faith in God over years of trials of life, but I am gonna Believe God for a Miracle for Healing from this dreadful disease.  I have been healed of asthma, a curved spine that was straightened and other things in my live and I know God still heals.

Let your faith carry you. I am on the back side of a flareup. I lost 40 pounds in the first six weeks. Stay prayerful and praise God no matter what happens.
Your faith will heal you!

I guess part of being a Christian is the trials we have to go through, I try to remember how he suffered to set us free of sin. Our suffering on earth is very short compared to the eternity of peace and love.

I believe prayer will heal your body!!!  The innate healing power of God or that Creative Power is all around us.

Pharmacist as of 6/12/2009.
Diagnosed 8/99. Suffered for almost 10 years. I am currently on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet and am nearing remission. I feel fantastic! I have lossed so many years to this disease.

Doc wanted to put me on 6-mp or Remicade, but I refused to take the medications! Currently on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet.  I'm in remission and life is like it always should have been.

We're human and not perfect....I don't get how one expects to be healed of everything.
Of course, healed doesn't necessarily mean physical....healed could also mean in accepting.

And sometimes God answers prayers by providing you the resources you need to learn how to take better care of your body and help yourself heal.

He doesn't give what you can't handle, this disease kinda gives you something to help you lean on Him and trust Him to get you through the tough times.

at the risk of pissing people off......

if you think "he" can heal you, then you would have to assume under that logic, that "he" gave you UC in the first place.

and if "he" gave it to you, why would "he" then take it away?

makes no sense to me.

lets see here... "he" is sitting up somewhere looking down and picking out people to give crappy diseases too. out of billions of people.... john can have cancer today, sue can have UC, mike can have MS, etc etc.... lets test em and see what they're made of... whatever.

i think its rubbish. and very contradicting. always an excuse.
but if it works for you, then more power to ya!
steph - 33 - female - gold coast australia - UC since 2000
was in remission until i quit smoking 5 weeks ago  o.O  now im flaring like a solar flare!

quercertin tablets, tumeric capsules, vitamin d3, enteric coated fish oil
pre-conception vitamins and minerals (cuz we trying to make a baby)
oxycontin for pain every 4 hours.  plastic bags in the loo from the involuntary puking.
i still eat what i want, when i want, if i feel like eating at all ... diet doesn't affect my UC.

I sure don't think He gave me UC. But, I do think He provided me the opportunity of knowledge to get well. I don't think He waves a magic wand to afflict pain or heal at His discretion. Disease is one of the outcomes of sin that is in our world. Do I understand why some are afflicted and/or healed by things such as diseases? No, but I know He has control of my life, and that's good enough for me. :) No offense to anyone is intended here.

If prayer can help you feel better, which in turn puts your mind at peace, which in turn can cause positive effects on your

I am not a religious person....I am more of the Science Channel type, so my beliefs do not involve prayer or worship of a being that has a gender.... However, I am not to judge the effectiveness of prayer as I have never tried it....

I feel that we will eventually have cures for a lot of diseases through our own experimentation and advances in technology, etc...if that can be related to answers to prayers, I wouldnt argue.

God will not heal you. That's a cop-out. We've got to keep searching for real answers and trying real solutions and testing real theories until we find something that works, not throw up our hands and leave it to God.

Alternatives: have successfully tamed 1 flare and counting without prednisone with massive doses of probiotic (along with asacol)

Please remember that this thread is bordering on violating this rule:

11. No posts of an overtly political or religious nature OR posts promoting advocacy of particular personal, medical, legal, religious, political, or non-profit causes. The forums are intended for offering mutual personal support. Debating controversial subjects should be taken elsewhere. Limited religious references are allowed (ie. "my prayers are with you" or a brief quote as part of a larger post), but the forums should not be used to convert others.

whoa, Red,
I just said i'm praying for a healing.....i did not espouse any religious views, i am surprised at the posts i am getting here. I made NO attempt to convert anyone, please read my original post. If anyone agrees or disagrees, they are under no obligation to comment. I don't know why this would offend anyone. If someone said they were going to seek a holy goat for their cure, i would not be offended or feel the need to comment. I see seeking God for healing as a more viable option than a lot of other things i have seen posted. So please don't feel that i was trying to be controversial.

Kazygirl you sound confused. Please read JOB and see if that helps. People recomend reading dietary books so i don't see the problem with that. When I got sick I just opened the book and it was on JOB. I flipped to the beggining and read the whole chapter not knowing anything what it would be about.
I look back and believe this has been a blessing to me. It has humbled this once conceited guy. People just arent living right now-a-days and most people will have heartache, but why???
One of my personal prayers doesn't directly ask for healing it asks for an understanding of my body and clean air and water and nourishment...

I find the overly religious views to be slightly offensive. I don't like when people say "HE can heal you". The idea of god as a human male is not universally accepted. No offense to people who were raised to believe that as fact. It's better to accept that we have an illness and that it's probably with us for life (unless we were misdiagnosed).
Diagnosed with mild proctitis in March 2007: Treated with Canasa (as needed)
December 08: Began treating with Asacol 400mg (9/day) + Canasa 2x/day - Anemic
May 09: Off Canasa, taking Asacol (9/day)
Back on Canasa every other night + Asacol (9/day) + Probiotics + Iron
Reducing to 6 Asacol/day + Canasa + Probiotics + Iron - So far so good!!! -SPOKE TOO SOON! Back to 9/day...

It's everyone's right to choose their own higher power to believe in. On this forum, we give support to people from all walks of life, different countries, etc., and that's why we ask you to refrain from using religious beliefs on the forum. Please remember, we are a diverse world.

May I also remind all that this is off-topic? This is a UC support forum. There are other, more appropriate venues for religious discussions and you might want to seek out one of those.

Positive discussions of ideas are definitely a good thing, but we do need to reserve the limited band-width at HealingWell for the purpose it is intended to serve. Thank you!

Personally I think this post should be locked asap, we already know from past experiances here that it will likely only get worse, I know I personally am offended at one poster calling another poster "confused" because the other poster doesn't believe....maybe that poster is the one that is confused for believing...I vote to have this post locked.
