I've improved the forum search tool (which hasn't worked well in a long time) by using Google's search engine.

Now when you click on the "Search" link at the top right corner of the forum... you will get a Forum Search page which only searches results from the forums. It isn't always "real-time", it takes time for Google to index pages, but it does work really well. Choose your keywords wisely!

Is there a way, however, to limit the search results to just the UC board? I have searched for topics, and actually had luck, but had to sort through posts from other boards, too.

Thanks! :)

Hmm... I've never had an issue with searching the forum. I just go to Google and type my search terms plus "" For example if I want to find topics related to prednisone on the UC forum, I type:

colitis prednisone
Joy - 47 yrs and counting; Colitis Dec 06 (also have IBS); Currently in remission

Figuring out how to reduce a flare or get into remission is a trial and error experience. Don't expect your GI to have all the answers. He was trained in making diagnoses, prescribing medications, and surgically removing the colon. He was not trained in alternative treatments. That's why they are called alternative treatments.

Lexapro (for stress), Probiotics and Vitamins, Anti-inflammatory foods, No pro-inflammatory foods when flaring, No HFCS, No foods high in fructose, No artificial sweeteners -- Fecal transplantation worked, Prednisone stopped working, Colazal stopped working, Asacol stopped working

You can limit results by typing "ulcerative colitis" along with your search term. So you would type "ulcerative colitis symptoms" if you were looking for results from the UC forum on symptoms. This works in most cases.
