Hi everyone.  I haven't been around for quite some time.  Started Remicade a year ago and have thankfully been in remission since the end of '08, about 6 months now.  Remission isn't "official" until cscope next march.

Just recently, I have had some achey pain on my lower left and wanted your feedback.  If it gets worse, I'll call my gi.  No other symptoms, but I wonder if I'm being paranoid?  Usually pain is not my first symptom, and it doesn't always coincide with flares for me.

Thanks.
Dixie

Glad that you are in something worthy of being called remission. sometimes we get a little paranoid, but that can also be a good thing. Stay on your toes. You know your body better than anyone else. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to call if it concerns you. What is the worse thing that could happen? Ya know. The worse thing would be to let it be and for it to build into another flare. Good luck!

Lower left side could coincide with ovulation as well...unless it's continuing..etc.

If you get any other flare symptoms such as excess gas, rectal fullness, constipation.....then consider it could be a flare coming with inflammation low in the rectum.

You might want to add some fibre supplements, probiotics and see if maybe there's some change in your diet as of a week before you started to get those symptoms.

I would, however, suggest that you contact the doc if it continues and request some sort of rectal med...even the Canasa suppositories but better yet...the retention enemas...5ASA if you can use them.
You might also ask him to take a look-see with a lower colon scope to confirm any inflammation..however mild.

Keep us posted.
