I know there was a spam thread on this earlier.

Has anyone tried cayenne to help with the inflammation? It seems like it would make things rather hot on exit.

I think once you get used to the piquancy of the spice, it actually does help with inflammation.  I never feel better than after a round of extra hot vindaloo, and I regularly eat hot peppers in all forms.  They stopped bothering me once I made it an every day thing.

(Bell peppers kill me no matter what, though, and they'll send my father to the hospital with an asthma attack if he eats them.)

I have heard of people using Cheyenne pepper enemas to stop diarrhea. Seems like it would burn, I don't know. I myself use this hot sauce on my eggs that has Cheyenne pepper in it as main ingredient and it doesn't cause me any problems.

I tried cayenne in capsule form. It did nothing for my inflammation. I experienced a terrible burning sensation in the rectum.

It's cheap, worth a try, it may help someone but I suggest starting off with a lose dosage

LOL, I know right. I don't understand how it has such good anti-inflammatory properties, but I guess its cheap enough to try out. It's definately something I would start on a weekend I wasn't planning on going anywhere.

Only thing I can figure is maybe the Cheyenne pepper would kill bacteria.

It's an anti-inflammatory and pain reliever, also used to treat arthritis.  It may also have some anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.  It's good stuff.

I guess I'm lucky spicy stuff doesn't bother me in the least.  Love it!
