Is this a side effect to either PRednisone or Remicade? I just noticed today that I have purple spots on my stomach and boobs. I also have a lot of purple bruising on my legs. I also have a new mole on my stomach. What is going on?

I don't know of that being a side affect? I usually just bruise at injection sites.

Yeah, it's weird. The ones on my legs are bruises, but the others are not bruises. I'm just suddenly spotty

Well, I guess I should have searched more online before asking. Sorry!
"tiny purple skin spots" is listed as a side effect. Oh joy, I seem to have gotten every single possible side effect of this drug

hey, get it checked out anyway.....sounds like purpura, caused by blood vessels bleeding into the skin. Whether it is a side effect or not, you need to have your platelettes checked, done by a cbc. if you are bleeding into the skin, it is also possible to bleed in your organs....not trying to scare you, just being cautious. But purpura is a very common side effect of ANY medication. It is almost never dangerous however.

Thanks :)
I believe I am getting a CBC done, too, because I requested my blood sugar to be tested and they sent out a lab form yesterday for me

Good that you had a CBC. I would have contacted my doctor about those potential bruises for sure. I hope it all turns out ok.

This actually sounds a lot like what's going on with me, but it's not so much purple spots as they are thick lines. They are only about two inches long (actually look like scratches) and they are on both my hips. I thought they were stretch marks the first time I saw them, but they haven't disappeared and I don't think stretch marks are purple. They don't hurt either, so they aren't bruises...
Diagnosed 2002(?) Indeterminate colitis (recently called Chrons)
Currently on: alternating doses of 6mp, 8 Asacol, weekly Humira, & 1000mg Canasa nightly
Also: generic Immodium and Levbid

Refusing to take pred and humira...(doing a diet/food diary change)

Well, stretch marks won't necessarily go away, though they can fade with time and they can be purple. The ones on my hips from pregnancy are purple. If you gain and lose weight often (which I know I do from this disease), that would make sense.
