So I've had loose stools the last two mornings, which I haven't had while in remission unless I had eaten something spicy or cheesey (darn IBS!). I did have some beans on Friday, but it usually doesn't bother me. I also had sharp pains on my lower abdomen Friday, which I figured was an ovarian cyst since my UC pain is typically dull and achey.

Could it be a random IBS response? Or should I start taking butt meds again?

Loose stools don't necessarily mean you're flaring...and the foods you ate could probably contribute to the discomfort you're feeling.

Have you recently had more constipation type symptoms?

Any rectal discomfort while having bms?

You might want to add some fibre supplements to bulk the stools..

If there is no blood then there's a good chance it's your IBS.

I get soft mushy stool most mornings but my pm bm's are nice and firm and I dont know why???

Did you eat any raw fruit or veggies? I just had to quit my AM blueberries (on cereal) because they've been giving me the loosers + lower left side discomfort later in the day. It's annoying as I tolerated them well for quite a while before my March flare & their big summer season is coming up in the NE, too. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

Nope, I'm not constipated. I already take fiber and increased it this morning. I don't have rectal discomfort--just some butt burn from wiping so much. Nope, I haven't eaten any raw fruits or veggies--I already know that raw veggies bother me and I'm allergic to fresh fruit.

I'm starting to cramp again. I was stressed out this week, so I'm just hoping it's IBS.

If the frequency is increasing, then it's probably a flare or even a gastro bug. But, if its something out of the ordinary regarding your normal flare symptoms, you might want to ask the doc about having stool samples done.  Just to be on the safe side..

Are you still on remi and colazal?

There is a nasty gastro bug going around again...some of my friends who are nurses have been talking about it. I don't know where abouts you live but I am sure if it is going aroudn and you have an already comprimised immune system then you may have caught something and it's irritated the "IBS? I hope you are feeling well soon and the symptoms subside for you soon.

I'm still on Remi and Colazal; I had my last Remi infusion a month ago. The last few days my stools start out solid, but the last one or two end up being loose. And I've had a little bit more cramping than usual. Ugh, things get so much more complicated when you have IBD and IBS!
