My son has been flaring for almost a month now. Has colonoscopy this Wed.

Now my 10 year old is also showing signs of beginning to flare. increased frequency, blood and mucus. She has pancolitis with the worst of her activity on the right side (at least at dx 2 years ago), so I wonder if entocort would work for her?

How in the world will I ever cope with two sick at once?

I really hate this disease!!!

Oh my gosh Julie, I think you are an amazing Mom and have so much to deal with. All I can say is to maybe try coping with things one minute at a time if that's the way it has to be. I can assure you that I've had my days as a caretaker and if it took dealing with with things one second at a time or whatever, that's how I had to deal with it. Sometimes looking too far ahead made me crazy with worry. Remember we can only know what is going to happen right at this minute. Take care and I'm sending all my good vibes to you.

My doctor told me to eat starchy foods, it might stem the flow a lil bit, at least until things can get fixed up. Maybe when they eat give them some potatoes and noodles. Good luck, I'm not poking fun, but I hope you have two bathrooms. I'm sure you're doing well, just try not to stress. When I was having problems my whole family worked and I had to take care of myself most of the time; I'm sure they appreciate you being able to help. And they can kinda help each other I'm sure.

I appreciate the support. Thankfully she already has an appointment scheduled with her ped. GI on Tuesday!! She just doesn't want to do prednisone again. She tolerated it pretty well, but hated the chubby cheeks!

I know you were not poking fun, ElephantPipe - I am very thankful to say that we have 3 bathrooms!!! (one is just a half bath - no tub or shower, but 3 toilets total).

I really just feel numb right now, like this is just unreal.

Oh, man! I hate to hear about kids flaring, so I hope that both of them can get things back under control quickly! I can't imagine how hard it would be to watch my son deal with this DD.
Status: Remission since late May 2009!
Symptoms began in November 2008, ~4 weeks after giving birth to my son.
Diagnosed with pancolitis on 1/30/09
Currently taking Asacol (400mg 4 pills 3x daily), Rowasa twice weekly, Natural Factors Ultimate probiotic 12/12 Formula, and Zoloft (25 mg).

I can't imagine how my hubby feels just dealing with ME having this disease... and I know my mom is frustrated with me too.. i can't imagine having two children with this AWFUL disease... i'm so sorry you and your children are going through this. I'm glad you have each other tho... and you know what else...it can feel lonely having this disease.. at least your children have each other to understand what the other one is going through.
Kara, 22F Married.
Latest - Lialda 2 twice a day. Currently colonoscopy shows remission. Apparently my symptoms are from my IBS side of my issues.
Medications: Lialda 2 twice a day, Align probiotic, Hyomax as needed.
I am so sick of this disease!
