Hi Friends,
I went to Mexico and back just fine, one day I pooped my pants but my bf didn't know :) I seem to poop them more when I use 5ASA for some reason. Remember I mentioned that skin hanging out of my butt? I had that removed (skin tag) a couple of days ago, two stitches put in and then infared my hemmis. I'm in major pain today.  I haven't had blood in my stool in two weeks or more, but the diarreah is still there. I had food allergy testing yesterday (it was all by needles) and for sure was YEAST, BEEF and Tomatoes, I will finish testing in a a couple of weeks. Yeast, wow that's major. Wheat I was fine, it was yeast, brewers and bakers. So I've ordered millet bread, no biggy. I just want to feel better.
I wanted to let you know that I've gotten better by taking Klaire Labs probiotics, I noticed a difference within a month of use. I just felt better all the way around and the blood stopped after a month too. I use the Therbotic Complete, The Therbiotic Detox and the Interfase. Mention Dr. Mccandless and you get a discount. Read up on them, they are strong b/c they were developed for kids in Africa who are exposed to a lot of bacteria. Really I have noticed a difference. I haven't been on any UC meds since probably the beginning of the year. I'm still doing the LDN, but I can't really say it's making a difference. I will stick with it though since my doc is convinced it will help in the long run. I took a lomotil 1/4 of that tiny pill and that just puts me in a coma, so I only take it at night. Diarreah is my worst enemy right now. I really would recommend food allergy testing (not the blood test either, that wasn't as accurate) for everyone. If you can elimated the allergens this will help the immune system to stop fighting so hard. I have a phone consult with my doc tonight, I'm excited to hear what he's discovered, he took 9 viles of blood two months ago for everything you can think of to check. Right off the bat he called and said get on magnesium citrate, I was very low on that. I will keep you posted. I just wanted to share I've tried so many different types of Probiotics, only Klaire Labs so far have proven to work. Thanks for listening and reading.
Very mild left sided (could have fooled me with the "mild")  UC. Started LDN ON 1/25/09, stopped LDN on 5/1/09 didn't seem to help. Supplements: Probiotics, Cipro antibiotics 4/29 for 8 days seems to be helping, no bleeding right now, advanced inflammation control

It's definitely a start....

Did they do an allergy test for salicylates? The reason I'm asking is there are many foods with salicylates, and since 5ASA doesn't agree with you, it could be that's a culprit as well.

Good you enjoyed your time in Mexico.

Never heard of Klaire Labs probiotics...I'll look them up.

Keep us posted as to how it's going for you....
