I have heard several different things about Azathioprine and such 6mp medications - do they affect your fertility or just that you shouldn't take them whilst pregnant?

I'm currently only 22 and not planning any kids in the near future but I don't want to be taking anything now that might hinder that when the time comes. My IBD nurse said if the Azathioprine doesn't work (I am 6 weeks in and blood tests have come back completely normal so far meaning it hasn't kicked in yet...however I know it can take up to 12 weeks) then she might have to try me on Methotextrate (sp?!) but that they never want to give that to someone of child bearing age.

Just wondering...!
