Hi guys... Ive been searching for Forum sites about health problems just like what im experiencing now until ive seen this site.. yay!! :)
Well let's get started... It started in the fist week of february.. I used to walk to go to work ( because i dont have a license yet XD im 20 y.o) before i leave to go to work i have a bowel movement ( as far as i can remember i have a soft, liquidy stool that day) it was 9:30 am when i leave (it took me 30 min to walk to work). It was summer time and its so hot!!! ( it was 45 deg celsius aw! XD) Then suddenly i got an itchy a**. I just ignored it and continued walking.. When i got to work i go immediately to the john and wiped myself and was pretty shocked from what i saw.. BLOOD! it's a bright red blood in the toilet paper. I was so worried that time of what might causing these. Then after that incident not often but sometimes i bleed after a BM. Not immediately after having a Bm but a while later ( like yeah i'm having a BM now and assuming i will bleed later after having a long walk) . I decided to have this checked and go into a bulk-billing clinic (it's the month of april) and explained the doctor about my symptoms. He did an rectal examination and he said he said that i dont have hemorrhoids. He then ordered me to have a blood work ( to be specific the tests that is done with my blood is FBE,ESR,CRP and LFT). It was at least 20 days later when i finally got to see a specialist ( which my consulting doctor referred me to).He said my blood work is all normal. He performed a "rigid sigmoidoscopy" to me.. it was like he inserted a lighted long tube in my a** . He checked at least 20 cm from my a** (thats as far as he can go) and after that he mentioned he found a little hemorrhoid and its not prolapsing.. He said that i dont have to worry and just add more fiber in my diet. After that, in the month of may im starting to feel constant tiredness (it doesnt go away), I always sleep late at night and sometimes lacking of sleep but im not sure if this is the cause,\. And now the month of june till now ive seen that there's blood in my stool ( only small amount in a portion of my stool). Im so scared because of this because im only having rectal bleeding and now it was mixed (a little) in the stool. And plus, my constant tiredness. Im going to a doctor again to check this out. just for information i dont have any family history of colorectal cancer or polyps. Im so worried of what might happening to me.. Im looking forward for your response so we can talk about my situation. I feel so alone ( i dont really got support from my family about this :( ) Im only 20 y.o. to have some nasty thing like "C"

Thanks,

"Scared" ben

Sounds like it could be a case of colitis, did your doctor do any other tests to rule out other factors (parasites?). Also to my knowledge a sig isn't nearly as good as full colonoscopy for determining what ails you. It could be that your have inflamation farther up in your colon that the sig isn't getting to.

Your symptoms are fairly limited for a UC diagnosis. However, it can take months or years to get a confirmed diagnosis. The good thing is that you are continuing to follow up for a cause. This could be many things and I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep your doctor up to date on your symptoms and be honest with what you are experiencing.

Thanks for your posts!

So far i havent done any test other than Rigid sigmoidoscopy, and blood work (FBE ESR CRP and LFT). I think im really am anemic because of my "tiredness" issue. I hear people saying i should try specific carbohydrate diet but im not really sure of what it is?

You should really sit tight and get a diagnosis before embarking on any diet change.

Is the blood in you stool or just on your stool? I sometimes have streaks of blood on the outside of my stools. What do you think is the cause? I also have poor sleeping habits, but i don't think that helped cause my problems. However, I do think it does impede the healing process. Keep listening to you body and i would suggest taking notes about your symptoms so you can remember everything. And definately get a colonoscopy to see what your gut looks like. If you feel you need to change your diet then you should do that. Like 3 years before I got UC I quit driinking sodas and started drinking mostly water just because I felt I had to. If you cherish your life you will do what you have to do.

Thanks for your post got2believe!!

The blood is just in the outer part of the stool.. it was like the blood was "sticked" outside the stool. and its only a small portion that it covers.. yeah before i was also fond of drinking lots of sodas but tried to cut it (almost not drinking :) ) since i got urinary urgency before :).. what troubles me is that i cannot totally change my sleeping schedule.. cause i think its already routine .. and i hate to admit this but i also have a poor diet habits.. so now i try to change my diet (healthier) and having some exercise just to keep me in shape..

Hope i get through with this :)

It doesn't sound like you have ulcerative colitis.

How often do you have blood, again?
Status: Remission since late May 2009!
Symptoms began in November 2008, ~4 weeks after giving birth to my son.
Diagnosed with pancolitis on 1/30/09

Ben,
Since your doctor said that you have an internal hemmoroid it sounds more like that is what is causing the blood on the outside of the stool, especially if the blood is bright red. When you do have a bowel movement is it painful right before it comes out, and is your stool more formed and a little hard? I wouldn't start worring about Cancer right now, your blood test would have shown something if it was. Just start paying more attention to your bowel movements, what consistancy, pain level and when the pain kicks in. Hang in there and keep us informed as to how you feel and what the doctor said. You might want to try a high fiber diet and see if it helps. Good luck.

thanks for your post gurgling!

Im about to see a doctor again next week and im planning to insist them if i could get a colonoscopy done ( just to make sure that everything inside me is ok). Yeap my last blood work was perfectly normal as the doctor said but i dont really trust the results just coming from a blood work. I will just tell you guys of what will happen after my next doctor visit!

Thanks to you all!
