Hey everyone, I've been kinda writing about what I've been going through with the UC... people say I should write a book and since the inception of my blog, people really think I could write a book about this.

Would you be interested in a book about my personal fight with UC? It sounds self centered to me that MY story would help someone else... but what do you think?

Just wondering. It's 1:45 in the morning and I have nothing else to think about! :)

One never knows who will buy what book....some like personal trials and tribulations...others like information with some personal attachment.

I wouldn't be interested in personal woe is me suffering stuff, but could be interested in an indepth factual clinical process that's your experience with all the nitty gritty that one never knows until it's experienced.
I should be able to feel like I'm experiencing it happen, if that makes any sense.
It would all depend on what message you want to portray.  your story, feel sorry for me...or it happened to me and I'm willing to let you come along to feel like it happened to you.

I am a writer (or at least I was - I gave it up) and I have been trying to write exactly what Q has said. The view of the patient but not the feel sorry for me kind. Just what it is that we have to endure everyday. Let me just say that it is not as easy as it sounds. You need to detach yourself a bit from the storyline. If you don't it can sound very self centered. I, personally, would love to read another person's story on how they cope with the tribulations of everyday life while living with a chronic illness.

Liza D,

Being diagnosed with UC at a young age was really hard for me. I felt alone and never heard of anyone having this disease. I found a book online called "Colitis and Me" which was a book similar to one you would like to write. It helped me a lot. I felt like someone was going through the disease with me as I read it. I think a lot of people would be interested in your story. I like personal stories way better than reading the dry textbook type UC books. Plus there are only a few personal stories published. I say go for it!

Female, Age 20, DX w/Left sided UC October 2005
DX w/Universal Colitis June 2009
Currently in Flare with moderate symptoms

Present Meds: Switching to Lialda 4 pills 1x daily and Canasa Suppositories (hopefully this combo will work, if not back on the Pred-unless I want to try Humira or Cimzia)

Past Meds: 40 mg Prednisone Daily for 1 year, Miralax Daily, Ginger Supplements, Remicade Aug 2006-June 2009
