When I poo, the whole rectum comes out and I see this hole of somesort on the left side, it doesnt bleed but thats what giving me so much burning pain! Will rectal meds help with the healing of this? I'm not bleeding or anything. Really could it be a ulcer that start in the rectum?

Thank you

Very mild left sided (could have fooled me with the "mild")  UC. Started LDN ON 1/25/09, stopped LDN on 5/1/09 didn't seem to help. Supplements: Probiotics, Cipro antibiotics 4/29 for 8 days seemed to help a little. Bad diarreah in the mornings about a hour of "dumping" no meds at this time for UC. I take Bentyl as needed, lomotil as well.

It could be a fistula- if you didn't have the hole before, I'd guess that's what it is. But I've never had skin tags down there, so am not sure what they look like- don't they look like any old "regular" skin tag? Like a super long mole? If it's a fistula, rectal meds will not help heal it- the only meds they use to try to close those suckers are Remicade & immune suppressants. And I'm living proof that they don't work too well! If anything, my fistula has gotten bigger over the past few years, & I'm on tons of meds. Is the hole where they removed the skin tag? If they remove it like they do a wart, I guess you would have a hole.

diagnosed with UC '02
meds-
Asacol- 8 tabs/day
Remicade-10mgs/kg- since 4/07
Imuran- 150mgs/day
various probiotics
Fiber supplement

Hi Eva Lou, gosh you would think the rectal doc would have seen this when he was doing his thing. I've had it for a long time, sometime the pain comes and goes. Yes that skin take was a long skin thing and now I can see two more are coming b/c they start out hard and eventually they have limp with no feeling. I can't believe this! My problem is when I go to the bathroom I can stop my body from pushing so hard, it does it on it's own. What will help that? I take Bentyl but that does do much for me at all.
Thanks for emailing
Linda

Could also be a UC ulceration. Yes, I'd start on whatever rectal meds you have available.

And try taking a fiber supplement to bulk up your stools. That and plenty of water may help you not have to strain so hard on the toilet. That can cause hemmies and all kinds of other problems.
