Are you taking original Colazal made by Salix or a generic version? I got great results while on the original 2003-2008. Last fall I switched to a generic made by Watson due to my insurance demands, and started going downhill! (It gave me ugly headaches + D.) I've gone back to Colazal by Salix this yr, with mixed results. Now I suspect that they've altered the formula somewhat-- because it used to give me dry mouth + puffy, itching eyelids at 10 weeks on full dose. I'm not getting those side effects this time around, but still have D instead of formed bms. Therefore, I'm thinking that Salix reduced or eliminated whatever caused dry mouth etc., which must have been the ingredient that stopped D!!!!!!!!!!!!! It seems that we just can't win the whole game. Very frustrating! / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])
I'm taking generic...It's really one D in the morning, and the rest of the day I'm fine...It' been a week now...I'll see for anothe week if it change...
