Well, it's me again. I first posted end of June . My story has this same subject.
The cancer was staged. It is stage 11, T3. No lymph nodes involved but throught the colon wall but not into any organs nearby.
There is a little fat surrounding the colon between it and the lymph nodes. The cancer has just started to spread into this fat. The test done is 60% correct, we will know for sure after the surgery.
On March 2, when I first was having symptoms and everyone kept brushing me off and sending me home with no treatment, I bet this tumor was smaller. It was probably not through the colon wall.
The problem now is all the waiting. First 10 days for Independence Day vacations for the staff. The doctor yesterday had to leave me for a meeting. He was going to see me again on Monday but then he remembered he had something more important to do that day so I have to wait to Wed. And he said we are going over a lot of stuff Wed, but I noticed my appt is right before closing so he will be rushing through it. and don't forget, all these appointments are two hours away.
They are going to do radiation before the surgery but would't you just know the radiologist is on vacation this week and I am pretty sure I am not her first order of business when she gets back. THEY ARE GOING TO LET THIS SPREAD AND KILL ME!
The doctor that moved my appt from Mon to Wed said two days would not hurt, but it is his two days and this other person's week and everybody else's day or so that is going to add up.
Ulcerative Colitis since about 1976
Pan colitis since at least 1994
June 29, 2009 after being given the brushoff for months locally, I went to Vanderbilt, two hours away...

wow that's complete bs. I'm sorry you're going through such an awful thing. They are treating you like you're not important at all. Maybe you could find someone else fast?

I don't know what else to tell you but either find someone else or make such a commotion that they have no choice but to listen to you.
22 years old

Diagnosed with moderate/severe UC June 2007, I've had it since December 2006.

Taking Lialda 3x a day<---NOT ANYMORE. I got pancreatitis from them.
I stopped taking Lialda 8-19-08. Ugh!
All I take now is just my 3 Entocort in the morning, and 1 iron pill in the afternoon.

NOW back on Lialda as of 8-30-08, not the cause of pancreatitis.
Going in for an endoscopic ultrasound on 9-19-08 to check things out.
Still on Entocort and iron. Yay...

Haven't been on here in a while (finally graduated college).
Update as of 5/26/09 - Now taking Imuran 100mg/day.
Taking Caltrate, Iron, and B12. I still take one Lialda a day.. Don't know why..
Something is giving me horrible headaches. =[ At least I'm off the Entocort.

I am happy to hear you're getting some answers and treatment. It doesn't sound like things as going as smoothly as you would like but trust me, you're going to be okay after the surgery. I was just thinking about you and hoping you are getting things under control. I hope you are back soon with good news soon. I will keep you in my thoughts throughout this difficult time. You have such an incredible will to live, you will get through. I sometimes feel like I want to stop fighting.
Diagnosed with mild proctitis in March 2007: Treated with Canasa (as needed)
December 08: Began treating with Asacol 400mg (9/day) + Canasa 2x/day - Anemic
May 09: Off Canasa, taking Asacol (9/day)
Back on Canasa every other night + Asacol (9/day) + Probiotics + Iron
Reducing to 6 Asacol/day + Canasa + Probiotics + Iron - So far so good!!! -SPOKE TOO SOON! Back to 9/day...
