After paying $110 a month for my Lialda for the past 2 years, I went today for a refill and it was only $20! I looked it up and Blue Cross changed Lialda to a Tier 2 Drug as of July 1, 2009 (Tier 3 was 30% of the cost). I'm so excited!
Diagnosed w/ UC in August 2007
Was in remission for almost one year (using only Lialda 4xday)
Rowasa and Canasa did not work.
Current status: In Remission since June 2009

4 Lialda/day maintenance, healthy diet
Starting Colal-Pred trial May 18, 2009, ended when hospitalized two weeks later. Also diagnosed with C. Diff while in hospital.
Currently taking 20mg Prednisone (tapering).

Yay!! That is worth celebrating!!! I had been reading so much about how much people with insurance were paying, that I was kind of panicking when I had to pick my son's Lialda up yesterday and thankfully found out that is will just cost $35.00 per month when the Lialda special Rx card expires -whew!! Plus, eventually my son will drop down to 2 per day instead of 4 so each refill will really last 2 months.

Two kids with IBD can really get expensive!!!!
