Hey guys!

I think it was fruitgirl that told me about the savings card for the new drug Apriso.

(I have to say that it's great that I only have to take that 5ASA once a day!)

Buy my complaint / question is this:

My pharmacy couldn't process the savings card. So I called Salix. They said send in the original receipt for the medicine, along with a copy of my savings card. I even sent a letter with my name, address, phone number, e-mail address, etc.

It has been 6 weeks already and no news from them. (Meanwhile I have had my prescription refilled and sent them another package for the 2nd month!) At the 4 week mark, I called them up to see where my money was. They said there is no way to check on the status of my rebate (or whatever it's called) and that it should arrive "soon"

I don't know what their definition of "soon" is, but the US mail isn't THAT slow!

Has anyone else had to use this process? How long did it take you to get your money?

I had the same thing happen with their Colazal card - the pharmacy couldn't process it - so I sent in the receipt each time and they would mail me a check. Sometimes, they would combine a couple of months. I'd give it a little longer.

Ugh, that's frustrating. I don't know what to tell you, because my pharmacy can process it, so I don't pay a thing when I pick up my Rx. Do you have to use that pharmacy? Maybe you could call some others and see if they can process it for you. I imagine the national chain ones (Walgreens, Walmart, Rite Aid) would be more likely to do it. I get mine filled at the Fred Meyer pharmacy (Fred Meyer is kind of like WalMart supercenters), which is associated with Kroger.
Status: Remission since late May 2009!
Symptoms began in November 2008, ~4 weeks after giving birth to my son.
Diagnosed with pancolitis on 1/30/09
Currently taking Apriso (4 pills ONCE!! daily), Rowasa twice weekly, Natural Factors Ultimate probiotic 12/12 Formula, and Zoloft (25 mg).

Unfortunately I do have to use that crappy pharmacy. It's a monopoly! I work for a large hospital system and since I have their health insurance, I have to use their pharmacy! (Can you tell, this is one of my frustrations?)

I'll just have to stick it out and hopefully it'll come in the mail some time or another like Scrap Girl said!

My pharmacist had commented re the Colazal discount card that she had to put it through transaction twice to get it to register one refill-- maybe that's your problem, too. Meanwhile, Salix discontinued the Colazal discount so phooey on them!!!!!!!!!!!! They could care less about patients; it's all about their profit margin. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC ...
