I have this terrible pain above my navel area; it started around the first of July, and I thought it would go away with the Remi treatment I had the next week. It did, and now it has returned...with a vengence. I emailed my GI the last time it happened, and he said he didn't think it was anything UC related, but maybe my colon was getting more sensitive and he'd be able to tell when I have my colonoscopy in August. Today one of my coworkers convinced me to get in to see my gp, which I'm doing this afternoon. Can you think of any questions I should be asking him?

Hello Lonie!

You are probably at your GI by now but my experience with the naval pain was one of two things... first, I had acid reflux which was irritated and causing me pain, secondly when they did my last colonoscopy, they found irritation in my small bowel which was uc related. It could be one of the two - I have begun taking over the counter prilosec which has helped with these symptoms. Good luck and let us know what they tell you!

Hi Shortstuff, and thanks for the reply. I just came back from the doc and he seems to think it is inflammation in my colon and gave me a med called Imitrix; I'll need to look it up. Also lots of blood tests...yuck. He's emailing my GI to see what he thinks.

Good luck Carol!

Mine was my colon too - small bowel. It made sense when I had my colonscopy - since I have been on the Remicade it has stopped bothering me. I see you have been having infusions for some time now. Keep us posted and I hope the meds help :)
