Okay.. For about 4 months now (on and off), I've had white spots, look like white play-doh, or spots, sometimes strips even.. in my feces. I don't feel sick, no fever, nothing. I do get sometimes stomach cramps, and it itches but not often, and it doesn't happen all the time and I've had NO PAIN except for the cramping. I'm 24 years old, male.. And in my opinion healthy (although I do have hemorrhoids). Can someone tell me what this is? I don't take vitamins or any medications/prescriptions. Can someone give me any answers or suggestions? I can't visit a doctor, because I am unemployed and have no health insurance. I live in the US.

Hi...sounds like you have mucus in the stool. The itch can be from a fissure or maybe a slight yeast infection or some mucus leaking from the anus.. or stool in the anal folds if not wiped or cleansed thoroughly after a bm.

Check out irritable bowel syndrome.

You might be able to adjust your diet somewhat to ease some of the symptoms...what does your diet look like in general?

Stress can compound irritable gut, and sometimes spasming or gas can cause the cramping. Sometimes calming teas like peppermint can help that.

So, is your life in general extremely stressful lately?

If you are able to have stool samples done, that might be good to help identify if there's something else going on besides active mucus.

You might want to consider taking fibre supplements as well as probiotics to at least help keep the flora of your colon in good balance.

Have you checked out the IBS forum on this site?

Hey! Thanks for replying! Not many people do.. :/

But yes, you are right. I been VERY stressed lately.. And now that I think about it, I I haven't had these stomach cramps until my stress really started. I did try to post in the IBS forum, but nobody replied of course. My diet consists of well.. The typical college 24 year old male diet.. Lol pizza, french fries, soda, fried foods... But I exercise A LOT. I'm not overweight or anything like that. But other than the very slight stomach cramps, I've had NO pain at all. It doesn't hurt to have a bowel movement, no blood, etc.

Hello Joseph~!!

I do know that Hemmies can cause a whitish mucus... my aunt had hemmies so bad and she had lots of white mucus in her poopies... that might explain the itching too.. they can sure itch sometimes! I agree with Quincy also about stressors and diet... and DEFINATELY a probiotic.. I swear by those! But if it persists, I'd definately get it checked out.. just to be safe and sound :)

Sounds like something's going on, and even if it is stress that's causing it, you'd be best to get thoroughly checked out to make sure it's not anything more serious.

Some peoople reply, some don't.....depends on what people can offer methinks.

Please don't delay to get checked out because the worry will only have you justifying the possibilities and create a living hell.
