I was surprised at how many people were there!  I'd say well into the hundreds...very uplifting! :)  They gave purple Mardi Gras beads to the patients and orange to the supporters.  There were, of course, a lot more orange than purple.  And my heart hurt each time I saw a kid wearing purple beads.  That just sucks.  I got a visor and T-shirt b/c of the amount I raised (grand total was $1170!).  I'll definitely wear my T-shirt...not sure about how much I'll wear the visor, as I don't wear hats much at all.  We had perfect weather for the event...about 80 and sunny!

Very good! I remember my first walk..we only had a couple hundred there and then each year after that, the count got higher and higher. I think the last one I went to a couple years ago, we had about 1700 there. We have a local news woman that goes there, supports and promotes the walk as well as a local well known health guru so I think that helps to get the count up. These walks are rather nice aren't they? But we didn't have anything to identify who had an IBD and who didn't. I'm glad that the weather behaved for you all!
