Could this be the sign of a flare on the way?

I am dealing with swelling in my hands, feet and legs. It continues to get worse. During the middle of last week I had to go out and buy some shoes that I could wear to work because my feet were so swollen that I couldn't even put my shoes on in the morning.

I am having some pain and discomfort but no blood.

I am stressed with a major move happening next week. Leaving my home town and moving to the big city.

Hi...I wouldn't say it's UC related....there are several possiblities.

Rather than listing them, I found this which has more than I thought initially...

I'm assuming you're completely off the pred..which can cause fluid retention.

~UC meds: Asacol (3 @ 2x daily); Salofalk enemas nightly for flares & taper to maintenance
~Bentylol (dicyclomine) 20mg as needed; Ranitidine (reflux);  Effexor XR 75mg(depression);  Pulmicort/Airomir (asthma)
~vitamins/minerals/supplementsProbiotics....(RenewLife Ultimate Flora Critical Care + Primadophilus Reuteri). @ bedtime
~various digestive enzymes as needed
~URSO for PSC (or PBC) 500mg X 2 daily (LFTs back to NORMAL!!)
My doc's logic.. "TREAT (FROM)BOTH ENDS"  worth it !!!

I also do not feel it has anything to do with UC. However, you should check it out with your doc as soon as possible since swelling like that should not go unchecked.

The prednisone could be causing the swelling.  It makes you retain fluid.  Keep a watch on your blood pressure, please!

I also suggest calling the doc asap because it's not normal to have extreme fluid retention.

I did gain 6 pounds in one day of fluid after taking Indocid....wasn't a good feeling. Needless to say I didn't use it after that.
