Saw a chiropractor today and gave him my detailed problems.  Because of my osteoporosis he is being very cautious.  NO cracking of bones.  He doesn't have a Pulstar or pro-adjuster but uses other techniques.  He said I am extremely tense...yeah, no kiddin..lol.  He did some minor adjustments and used some kind of pressure points which felt like electrodes in the bottom of my feet.  He also used a laser around my earlobes.  Apparently these techniques are like acupuncture.  I will try about five treatments.  At the worse, nothing will happen, but it only costs me $10 out of pocket and worth it if it gives me some relief.  At least he doesn't push any meds.  If I could get some relief for this anxiety and tenseness which seems to increase while flaring, I will be grateful.

Hope it gives you some help in the body tension department. As long as he's not making promises to heal you...that's a good thing.

You might, however, eventually consider reflexology or massage, etc.
Trigger point therapy can go a long way.

Keep us posted as to how it goes. I see chiropractics, massage, trigger point therapy..etc as ongoing..maybe you'll find the balance you need so that tune-ups get you through to functioning better.

Thanks Heather.  He did say he performs reflexology and trigger pointing.  When I phoned for my appointment yesterday, the first thing he said was he could not heal UC but could try to help my tension.  I like this guy very much.  He seems to be on the up and up.  I was especially relieved that he didn't try to crack my bones.  Because of my osteoporosis he didn't want to make matters worse.

It sounds like that's what he did for you, with your feet and earlobes. I got relaxed just listening to you describe it...I'm sure it will help!
