Sheesh, when will I learn to limit my fruit intake?  Yesterday, I probably ate about 3 pints of raspberries.  I was riding a raspberry harvester (big machine that straddles the rows, and beater bars knock the fruit off) for a good portion of the day, evaluating advanced selections (ie, have potential to be new varieties).  So, you've got to taste them, right?  But WHY did I eat so many?  This is coupled with fresh blueberries and an "overdose" on grape tomatoes and sweet corn the day before.  I had some very, very, very loose poop yesterday evening, and got worried.  I've been on a strict "no berries" diet today, and all is well.  I'm silly.  tongue

I would say it's what one would expect eating that much fruit...whether one has UC or not.

Don't punish yourself..once it's out, it's out. You just might have a sorer bottom as a result.

Hey, I had too much vanilla ice cream last night and the gas was a complete killer after using the Salofalk enema....as well...the heat build up was hot to say the least..lol!

My bad too...but it was worth the suffering based on my decision.

I don't do it often...but I have no commitments tomorrow and ice cream will just hit the spot nicely tonight as well. No diarrhea or loose stool, however, or rectal pain from the flare...so, in event I'm doing fine.

Now, wouldn't blueberries and ice cream do nicely???? nah!

You must be nicely cleaned out today..haha!

Happy I don't like fruit but now ice cream is a different story!!  Best time to splurge is when you can stay home the next day for sure!

Oh, I'm nice and clean, I'm sure! Bottom isn't sore, luckily. I just was worried I was *maybe* starting a flare again. But yeah, this happened long before I had UC. The only difference is I have a "reason" to be concerned about loose poop now!

Ice cream and raspberries are more my speed...I like the tartness. :)

Really, it's great having all the free berries I want, but it's hard to control myself sometime!

Sounds yummy to me! Wow, what a job to work at! I'm trying to lose about 8 lbs, and now all I can think about is berries and vanilla ice cream...yum. ;-) Guess I could just go for the berries though....and vanilla yogurt?

It's definitely my favorite part about working on a fruit farm/in fruit research!

How about berries and vanilla frozen yogurt? :) Besides, anything is healthy if it has fruit in it, right? IMO, some sort of fruit pie makes a most excellent breakfast.

I hated giving up fruit during flares!!! Sometimes I would sneak in a few like bananas... but berries! They are the hardest to digest! You are a strong woman for even trying them!!! :)

I'm not flaring, so all is well! I avoided berries (and just about all fruit but bananas and applesauce) when I was flaring, too! :)

my only response is.....food or too much fruit won't start a flare, and if you flare around this time, it only means were heading for one anyway.

Oh, I know the fruit wouldn't have *caused* the flare, I was just worried I was starting one anyway.

If you are concerned....you can increase the enemas to at least every two nights and if all is OK, go back to twice a week.

or, increase the probiotics for a few days....

Blueberries and fruits are good for you anyway...I agree with limiting them, but maybe you're needing the nutrients in them regardless.

We can justify anything...but try not to micro manage everything...if you know what to expect, it's not so bad.

Hey, I'm finished my ice cream, last night was much better, but I cheated and didn't use the enema. Yikes...but at least I had a good sleep.
I'm finished with my ice cream binge...and definitely worth it. Oh, how's this for cheap..the container is now smaller than it used to be. Better for me, however..lol.

Keep us posted as to how you're doing.
