Has anyone tried VSL#3 or Align probiotics?  Has either one helped you/what were your experiences?  If anyone has tried both, which one worked better?  I am just wondering because currently I am on VSL#3, and considering trying Align instead to see if it works better.  Any info would be appreciated!

I'm using VSL#3 and it seems to be working fine. I've never tried Align but a number of people here seem to be happy with it.

AMK77, just wondering, why do you prefer Align to VSL#3? More effective? Fewer side-effects (like bloating)?

The only problem I have with VSL#3 is the price. It's probably one of the most expensive probiotics on the market.

I have not tried VSL#3, but would like to.  Align did not work for me-it made me feel worse.  However, I seem to be the exception because even my GI was surprised and said she tells a lot of patients to use it.

Worth a try!!

Back on Canasa temporarily because I took Biaxin for sinuses and started seeing streaks of blood again.

I've tried VSL#3, Align, and many other "high quality" probiotics. I've found Culturelle to be the best for me, and it's WAY cheaper than VSL#3.

I tried Align but it always gave me a stomach ache.
And the refrigerated probiotics are better.
49 year old female attorney, diagnosed UC/pancolitis 1985, no surgery but much suffering. Asacol maintenance for 20+ years; used prednisone & Rowasa for flares.  Probiotics (Ultimate Flora, 50 billion), salmon oil (omega-3) when I can remember.
August 2008 sought care of naturopathic doctor. Food sensitivity test showed wheat/gluten, other intolerances; eliminated wheat/gluten from my diet.
Bad flare in March, used prednisone. Humira denied, started Remicade 4/12 and doing great~ learning what normal is~ wow

I also take Align and it is working for me. I take since almost a year.

It is not true that refrigerated probiotics are better, if that were so, why? I tried refrigerated probiotics and they send me back to the crapper with lots of cramps. I tried them three times. So, they are NOT better - maybe they just work better for you PERSONALLY. As a matter of fact, they are very expensive and there is no guarantee that they work as I personally have seen it.

You just have to give it a try and see what happens.
