I had a skin tag removed and it seems its back, has anyone had one after another? I'm flaring, my butt hurts at the entrance, I hope he's able to get past the inflammation. Why did it come back or maybe he didn't take enough off. Any thoughts on this one?
Very mild left sided (could have fooled me with the "mild")  UC. Started and stopped LDN ON 1/25/09 to mid May no improvements. Supplements: Probiotics, multi, iron, caprlic acid, sporonox (for 14 days) trying a new peptid replacement therapy, drug free. Getting IV of vitamins and minerals for 12 weeks. I take lomotil as needed.

thinking you have Crohn's and not UC....
*Heather* Status: flaring...Asacol 3 twice daily; Salofalk enemas nightly
~diagnosed January 1989 UC (proctosigmoiditis)
~UC meds: Asacol (3 @ 2x daily); Salofalk enemas nightly for flares & taper to maintenance
~Bentylol (dicyclomine) 20mg as needed; Ranitidine (reflux);  Effexor XR 75mg(depression);  Pulmicort/Airomir (asthma)
~vitamins/minerals/supplementsProbiotics....(RenewLife Ultimate Flora Critical Care + Primadophilus Reuteri). @ bedtime
~various digestive enzymes as needed
~URSO for PSC (or PBC) 500mg X 2 daily (LFTs back to NORMAL!!)
My doc's logic.. "TREAT (FROM)BOTH ENDS"  worth it !!!

Please look at the second set of pics (the above pics are hemmies, the set of pics below that are perianal crohn's skin tags) in the following link...

Those are pics of perianal crohn's skin tags (aka; elephant ears) if your tags look like that you should not be getting them removed, as they have a very high chance of not completely healing and ending up becomming constantly infected which you don't want.

If they are skin tags from old hemmies then that's different all together but even so, any IBDer should be very cautious about getting anal tags removed (in the chance of a misDX of UC actually being crohn's).

:)

My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)

Good news it's not another skin tag it's just the one I have is inflammed and hasnt healed and my doc said he doesn't wait to see me for 6 months! So I'm happy, but I need to get the inflammation down, will canasa help with that?

didn't the doc make a suggestion for an external medication to help with healing?

Canasa might help...but you can't take 5ASA meds as I remember.

You could call the doc and ask for proctocedyl ointment...that stuff helps a lot.

Or...you could use zinc oxide or as pb4 suggests..extra virgin olive oil.
