For the last month or so I have had ulcers appear in my mouth, but the strange thing is they only pop up when I am about to have a really bad day with my UC.  If they come one day, within 48 hours I will have tons of cramping and bleeding.  Anyone had anything like this?  I have also noticed that my fingertips and soles of my feet start to form small blisters and peel, again right before I have an "episode" of diarrhea and bleeding.

Definitely sounds like an autoimmune response for sure. I don't think the sores on hands and feet are usually UC-related, however.

Have you seen a dermatologist or better yet...a rheumatologist to see what their perspectives would be?

How are your liver enzyme readings?

Strangely, I have never had a liver function test of any kind. I guess I should bring that up at my next appointment.

I also get mouth sores with a bad flare of my colitis. try using salt and water rinses and i use listerine which burns but i hate them and try to get rid of them asap. This last time i flared i had to buy orajel to help. Have never had blisters though on hands or feet.

I had mouth sores a couple years ago and my doc and I were sure they were from my UC. But then I happened to switch to a milder toothpaste (not whitening or tartar or anything) and they went away! Maybe this wouldn't help you, but just in case it would!

Mouth ulcers were my first hint that carbs in general (and particularly sugars) set off my UC. Whenever I'd eat a lot of carbs I'd get lots of mouth ulcers followed by ridiculous D w/ blood, regardless of drugs (even with prednisone). 2 days after Halloween this past year, I had over 20 mouth ulcers and lost enough blood that I had trouble walking up stairs for weeks (I was too stubborn to go to the docs though). I decided to cut out all sugar, and I felt better ... cut out almost all other carbs and I'm doing great. As a result, I haven't had a single mouth ulcer since November last year, even though I used to get them almost weekly, plus my D/blood has been almost entirely under control.
