I am only on it till tomarrow but I swear I feel like I have overdosed on coffee.  I wouldn't think I have been on the lialda long enough (3 doses) for it to be this way...
It usually goes away by mid to late afternoon.   Is this a common pred side effect?
It doesn't seem to be working...I am not getting completely better anyways...the mucus came back to day and can't seem to get under 3 to 5 times a day.  Less cramping but if I am going to have to take so much med I'd like to get down lower..
Left sided UC: Diagnosed 7/09
Currently on Pred 40mg, Lailda 2.4 once a day
Supplements: Bromelain 3 times a day, Tummeric 3 times a day, Good Belly probiotics 1 time a day. Multi, Vit D, B-complex...
currently on the down side of a flair....

Yes, I was lucky to have very few side-effects the one time I was on pred but that shakey (too much coffee feeling) was one that I did have...I also got a little puffy...but I was in a bad flare for so long that the pred was totally worth it for me at that time. I would not take it unless it is really needed but sometimes flares are just so stubborn that short term pred. usage is needed.

I know when I take pred I feel like I am bouncing off the walls. And when I start to come of it I am in my own little world.

Yup, that's why you should take it in the morening. To at least give you a little chance of being able to sleep.

I HATE pred, last time I took it I was nearly fired because of mood swings. Luckily I was on the back side of tapering when my GI realeased me back to work.

Yep does the same thing to me to...get outta my way when I am on prednisone.  Good thing I don't work anymore.  I have very low tolerance for annoying people.  Especially OLD people like myself..lolololol.  My husband said I am like a b**** on wheels.  Moon swings are awful.  I can compare myself to both my daughters when they have PMS.   Funny thing is...before I went through the change....I NEVER had PMS.  I used to get bad migraine headaches but never cramps and never PMS!  Making up for it now with UC and prednisone.
To make things even worse...I now have that moon face which will take a good few months to get rid of, not to  mention how worse my osteoporosis is getting.  My appetite has just picked up too.  I lost ten pounds because I am eating so healthy, but now I am getting an appetitie for junk food.
OH and the insomnia....I have depended on Ambien CR for over a year and it only lets  me sleep for five hours!!!!  UGH!

Pred always made me a mess of tremors, anxiety, paranoia, and insomnia etc. I will never take it again after 5 sessiona over the years.
23 years of UC which started after quitting smoking. In and out of flares which are usually triggered by antibiotics. Latest issue is endless diarrhea without blood or mucous.
