Ok..so I am off pred...no more shakes...I am no longer having to get up early to go to the bathroom...I am eating healthy, taking vitamins....blah blah...and I am just about into remission..2 or 3 a day with some mucus and some gas...

Why am I so tired?  I didn't think this was a side effect of lialda. I swear 3 months ago I was full of energy and ready to go and now...I am just spent..

This is what happens when you have UC and have just tapered off Prednisone! But if you're heading into remission, you've got no place to go but up, as your body replenishes its stores and gets used to no pred.
Good luck and just get plenty of rest. It'll get better.

If your blood tests showed signs of anemia, then it will take a while to feel better. It took me ~6 months of eating right, resting, and taking iron supplements before my blood results were normal (at which point I also felt better). For example ... before starting my BIG flare 5+ years ago, I was active and ran frequently. After finally getting things under control (via diet, Prednisone actually didn't work for me), I couldn't walk around the block, and had to rest halfway up the stairs at home. 6 months later I could finally run 3 miles, but it took a couple years to achieve my "pre-flare" state of fitness.

Hang in there and get plenty of rest, it just takes time.

I was only on pred for 5 days...No taper just 40mgs for something else. I am sure I am going to regret this but I am also schedualed to quit smoking in 4 days...

Sigh...

I am always tired too. I take iron supplements for my anemia and it has helped a lot but I wouldn't go so far as to say I feel perfectly normal. I hope some day I have more energy.
Diagnosed with mild proctitis in March 2007: Treated with Canasa (as needed)
December 08: Began treating with Asacol 400mg (9/day) + Canasa 2x/day - Anemic
May 09: Off Canasa, taking Asacol (9/day)
Back on Canasa every other night + Asacol (9/day) + Probiotics + Iron
Reducing to 6 Asacol/day + Canasa + Probiotics + Iron - So far so good!!! -SPOKE TOO SOON! Back to 9/day...

I too used to be utterly exhausted, to the point where I felt like I couldn't even get out of my vehicle. I'd walk around in a daze, especially after a BM. This was still ocurring up until I eliminated all sugar from my diet except for organically milled sugar in Soyfield's Pro-biotic yogurt and evaporated cane crystals inside Kashi's TLC cereal/granola bars. The only thing I drink other than water is Juicy Juice. Other than that, I don't eat sugar at all. No more caffeine, corn syrup, sodas, energy drinks, high fructose, sucrose, glucose, etc.

It's a tough diet because literally everything has sugar in it. But it's been worth it and I've lost 8lbs so far. Now, I'm back to living my life with energy and snacking every 2-3 hours on super expensive Kashi bars!

P.S. I am also on Lialda 2.4mg per day.

I miss kashi....I don't think I would have too much of a problem eliminating most sugar. Either I am on it and have to have it or I can cut it out and don't want it.

I am restricted from soy products due to a cotting problem I have so I am not eating soy. It sucks...I am also now eating bread in small quanities because originally we thought I was gluten intolerant but it seems I am not. I ate no gluten for 6 months and I was noticing that a lot of the gluten substitutes are on SCD diet...

Edited to add I meant to say that a lot of the gluten substitues are NOT ALLOWED on the SCD diet...
