Hello everyone~!
I'm down to 30mg of pred as of today.... So far, so good... No blood, only going 2 to 3 times a day with formed poopies... YEAH! I'm tapering at 10mg per week.. don't know fur sure if that's too fast of a taper though.... feeling a little queasy tonight  and it's my first day at 30mg down from 40.... Not too bad, just a little queasy. been eating like a pig though and I am fat faced and have a hump on my back! YUK..  I feel like a buffalo... lol...  hopefully that won't take too long to go away.  If I still feel queasy tomorrow, I'll up it to 35mg for a week and go down only 5mg a week instead of 10.  Just not sure how fast to taper... if anyone can suggest what is usual... that would be great~

Are you following your doctor's instructions - that is the best way and then contact him/her if you feel sick or ?  Everyone is different!

There are a lot of schools of thought as to how to taper. Do what your doctor suggested, and if you feel it's not working, give him a call. I went from 40mg-30mg-20mg-15mg-10mg-10mg every other day-off.

When I was on prednisone, I tapered down by 10mg every week, and then at lower doses, I tapered by 5mg, and then 2.5mg.

So it was something like 40mg, 30mg, 20mg, 15mg, 10mg, 7.5mg, 5mg, 2.5mg. When it got down to taking half-doses like 2.5mg, I did it by taking 5mg every other day.

The reason I slowed down the taper below 20mg was that the first time I took pred I had flared below 15mg, so my doctor and I decided to slow the taper down, and that worked out better.

I would recommend that during the taper if you feel symptoms coming back then get in touch with your doctor before continuing to taper, and discuss whether you should bump back up to the previous higher dose for an extra week before tapering again.

I always tapered really quick which was stupid of me. This last time I did 5 mg per 7 days. Was much easier.
