Has anyone had any experience with abatacept? If so can you share your experiences? Scheduled to start in the next week or two, a little bit nervous, but also excited at the possibility of some relief from this disease. Been in a flare since last April (2008), and have tried almost every drug out there including asacol, lialda, cortenema, rowasa, canasa, prednisone, 6mp, and remicade - none of which worked. Currently on 75mg 6mp and 4 asacol 4x/day. Have also tried probiotics and other supplements. My colitis is left sided and limited to a small section of the colon but apparently severe in that section. Have pretty bad urgency and frequency mostly in the mornings. Side effects have been osteopenia, white cell count dropping, and also anemia. I guess if the abatacept doesn't work my only other options are cyclosporine or surgery. I would appreciate any feedback, comments, or words of encouragement. Thanks
