I have a few ideas for finding a good therapist in your area since no one here has had any specific recommendations...

1) call the psych department of the closest hospital and see if you could speak with someone there for a recommendation
2) ask your GI or general doctor or basically any doctors you trust. Sometimes they will know of good therapists in the community.
3) Another thought is whether there's a support group for people with chronic diseases. Some hospitals, I think, I have those. While you might not want to do group therapy, the therapist who runs the group might a good, sympathetic person to see as a private patient.

Dealing with stress can only help your UC symptoms. Good idea.
