Lately, I've been totally annoyed because the cortifoam canisters aren't working right.

I've used them for years and now that my co-pay is through the roof, I'm wasting a lot of foam and I'm getting very frustrated!

Here's what happens:

I put a new white flange on the top of a new canister
I put the applicator on top with the blue part pulled out to the line.
I push down
The applicator gets a little filled
I push again on the white flange and the applicator doesn't fill any more and I can tell that the foam is now under the flange.
Push again and it just makes it worse.

I stop, clean the flange thing out with hot water but the whole thing happens again.

Anyone else having this problem? Are the white flange tops being made differently (smaller opening)? Is there less propellant in there? I can't figure out what I'm doing differently after years without problem.

I'm thinking of calling the manufacturer or maybe seeing what my pharmacist can do for me... like maybe replace the canisters that I've half-wasted with this problem.

I used Cortifoam twice a day for weeks and had that happen a couple times only.  Now I be sure to shake canister with white cover on it - shake well!  Be sure everything is straight up and down - push on flange two or three times quickly and then wait for fill - do that again - works!  Good luck!

I've used it many many times over the yrs and have never had any issues with it...I always shake it very well (as directed) and I keep the can upwards (never upside down) when filling it and always press slowly so I don't waste the foam with too much comming out.

Thanks, guys! I will try paying to attention to whether I'm holding it perfectly straight up and down. Maybe I've been holding it at angle and not noticing.

Remember to shake it really well before each use too.

didnt seem like they contained enough. like 3-4 at a time would be nice. i with i had access to all the medications to attack it from multiple angles as i see fit, surely would have gotten great results. i was always at teh mercy of the doctors lame overly cautious medicaiton scheme.

From what I remember, one can of cortifoam should last 2 weeks....you have to be careful when filling the dispenser not to let it over-flow or it gets wasted easily.
