Have you been tested for any gene mutations? Such as Leiden Factor V or Prothrombin Gene Mutation?
I have been diagnosed has having both (heterozygotic) and was already at risk for DVT and stroke...Now I know what kind of stroke I will probably have. I googled cerebral venous sinus thrombosis and UC and started seeing my gene mutations as a factor also... I have hit the genetic lottery three times now it seems! Somehow I don't feel lucky except that I haven't died yet..
I am glad everything turned out well for you..And thank you for putting this topic out there because it seems that my GI doesn't seemed to concerned about
my risk for stroke even though he knows about
my hypercoagulability...I hope my Blood Dr clues in when he gets the report from the GI, Either way I will be insisting that both clue in to this risk. At least my Blood Dr admitted when I came back positive for both that it was rare and he'd have to research to determine how to proceed.
Even if anyone else here isn't affected by your story, you definately have saved one life...
