I was just reading up on Apriso and it says the following:

The recommended dose for maintenance of remission of ulcerative colitis in adult patients is 1.5 g (four APRISO capsules) orally once daily in the morning. APRISO may be taken without regard to meals. APRISO should not be co-administered with antacids. An evaluation of renal function is recommended before initiating therapy with APRISO.

I am on Nexium and Asacol and I was thinking about Apriso.  But after seeing the above I don't know if you can take Apriso and Nexium.

Hello... I take Apriso and Nexium... I take the Apriso one or two hours before taking the Nexium... My pharmacist says it is because the Apriso has to have a certain PH level to release correctly and the Nexium can change that. So I take the Apriso and give it an hour to do it's thing, then I take the Nexium to combat the heartburn from the Pred... So far so good.. I'm down to 30mg of Pred now and the Apriso seems to be keeping me in remission so far... Once I get off the Pred completely, I'll stop the Nexium and hopefully my heartburn will stay away...

P.S.. I think Co-Administered means to take it at the same time.. that's why I wait an hour or even two sometimes before I take the Nexium

Thanks Susiebuddy,
I seen before that you took both Nexium and Apriso (so I was hoping you would respond!).   Ok, I should be alright as long as I don't take both at the same time.

My understanding is the same as Susiebuddy's. I don't take Nexium or any other med like that on a regular basis, but sometimes I'll take Tums or something og the sort. Just so long as you're not taking them together it should be fine.
