Just a update that I'm on my second shot. My doc said I have a mucusa problem. Is this a main problem with those with UC? I don't really know. I know I can  NOT pass gas b/c pinkish mucus comes out so I always have to be near a toliet to pass gas. The first shot showed improvement the first 48 hours, no mucus at all, stool still skinny and long, then it went back to its old self. The doc said this is good for the first shot b/c it's like building blocks it'll get better and better with each shot. I'm on my 6th IV treatment of vitamins and minerals, I get them every week and I've noticed a huge difference in my energy levels. For example, when I'm having a bad poo day, (which is every morning) I still have energy to move about and go to work, in a good mood. Things are improving slowly. They said my UC is not typical, I will get better clarification from my doc when I sit down with him. They called my ulcers, liasions.
Even when I was in remission (by signmoid my doc looked and saw no ulcers)  I was still having urgency and skinny stools and dumping all for a two hours in the morning. Does anyone have this "dumping" just piles and piles of poo, mushy and smelly stool? Is it a bacteria/yeast problem?
I just got of Sporonox, was on it for 14 days per my doc for yeast in my gut, still on Caprilic Acid for bacteria, no improvement in my stool consistantcy. Still just mush. What a bummer!
Will post again, everyone one of you are in my prayers and I'm still asking for a healing and cure for all of us! I believe in miracles! I am one.
Very mild left sided (could have fooled me with the "mild")  UC. Started and stopped LDN ON 1/25/09 to mid May no improvements. Supplements: Probiotics, multi, iron, caprlic acid, sporonox (for 14 days) trying a new peptid replacement therapy, drug free. Getting IV of vitamins and minerals for 12 weeks. I take lomotil as needed.

I always enjoy reading your posts because you try the widest variety of treatment options possible. I am somehwat the same way but I don't have a doctor to work with so I am always trying to change diet and use herbals. I hope something you are doing helps you dramatically. In some ways I do think my situation is tied to bacteria or yeast even though tests supposably show that it's not. I wish I had more answers for you. If I find anything that gives me hope I will let you know. The only OTC thing I notice effecting me in a positive way is eating less syrups/sugars. If I feast on corns and corn syrups, I will definitely see a little mucus, D and blood the following day.

Think you may be lactose intolerant? Are you taking a good probiotic? I get the long skinny stools when my colitis or IBS is acting up. Good luck. I have never heard of that kind of therapy. Hope it works for you.

Sometimes I get that, some skinnies, then later, a big mushy pile. Also, I know when things are acting up in my colon because usually my farts don't stink, and when they do I know something's up. Same with my poo (as in, I don't smell my poo, but the air in the bathroom is always pretty scentless, but when things are weird it smellls).

When you post again please let us all know what he meant by "not typical"!
