Oh my...are you having treatment for cancer? I didn't realise.

I have no idea but I would think the whole process could set you up for a flare or you might be OK depending on the chemo meds.

What meds for UC are you on at this time?

quincy
*Heather* Status: ...Asacol 3 twice daily; Salofalk enemas every 2nd night
~diagnosed January 1989 UC (proctosigmoiditis)
~UC meds: Asacol (3 @ 2x daily); Salofalk enemas nightly for flares & taper to maintenance
~Bentylol (dicyclomine) 20mg as needed; Ranitidine (reflux);  Effexor XR 75mg(depression);  Pulmicort/Airomir (asthma)
~vitamins/minerals/supplementsProbiotics....(RenewLife Ultimate Flora Critical Care + Primadophilus Reuteri). @ bedtime
~various digestive enzymes as needed
~URSO for PSC (or PBC) 500mg X 2 daily (LFTs back to NORMAL!!)
My doc's logic.. "TREAT (FROM)BOTH ENDS"  worth it !!!

If you are getting chemo for cancer, it depends on which medication they use. I would think chemo, most times, do not mess with the bowel, however, if you get radiation then yes, this can aggravate your Uc pretty bad. With radiation treatment, you have to go on a special diet pretty much similiar to a Uc flare diet - low residue.
