My stools have been pretty normal for the last few days-formed, no real urgency, and only going 1 or 2 times a day.

I was thinking of tapering my rowasa to every other night, but I'm not sure if I should wait another week or so.

I waited until I was back to my pre-uc normal of 1-2 non-urgent BMs for three or more weeks. I wanted to make sure the flare was gone, gone, gone. Then I tapered used them every other night for about two or three weeks, then went to twice weekly, which is where I plan to stay as a maintenance dose.

When you say "no real urgency" do you mean NO urgency, or that the urgency is better than it was, but still present? At any rate, I'd wait until you've had NO symptoms for at least two or three weeks.
Status: Remission since May 2009!

I haven't had bm's without at least some urgency for at least two years. But basically, I feel some discomfort, but as long as I can get into the bathroom in the next 10 minutes I'm fine.

how long were you on the Rowasa nightly?

If you go every second night, you'll know soon enough if you have to go back to nightly.

all you can do is try to go every second night. MAKE SURE that you don't miss any nights.

As a suggestion....I make the schedule on my calendar..I write sal on the lower right hand corner and cross it off when done...keeps a record of my schedule, flares and because I've done meds for 20 years, it's difficult to remember if I did them or not...etc.

Do every second night for at least a month..then if all is OK..do every third night....

Hope you have no problem to get the refills OK'd by the doc.

Keep us posted as to how it's going.

I'll probably start tapering sometime this weekend or next week. =) And I think I have refills, but I'll have to double check.
