I'm so sorry about
the pain you're having. I have not had the pain, thank God, but when I was in a flare, I would have D all day and night. I have pancolitis, but since your pain is on the left side, it may be your inflammation is primarily on the left which I think is more common in UC. I either have a very high threshold or haven't experienced the pain I hear others speak of. I have blood occasionally even though I'm not in a flare. It is usually brought on by foods I can't tolerate like tomatoes which are high in acid. Also, I don't tolerate high fiber foods. Have you noticed your pain is more if you have eaten certain things? Try a bland diet like roasted chicken or fish with mashed potatoes for a few days and see if it helps. And the noisy gurgling sounds are classic UC. Again, I'm sorry and I wish I had more info for you. Maybe some other posters can be more help when they see your post.

Medications: 800 mg. Asacol twice a day - in remission; Two 1200 mg. fish oil supplement nightly. Effexor-XR 150 mg. daily
