I was diagnosed with mild UC via scope in 2005.  For two years because it was so mild I wasn't on any meds.  However, then I started seeing blood and mucus.  Had another scope in 2007 for that and the doc then put me on Asacol.  Thinking back now, I really should of requested rectal meds because that is where the inflammation was found.  But the GI doc didn't push it and once I started popping Asacol pills, one week later all blood and mucus are gone.  Since then for the past two years I would average 1 to 3 bowel movements a day, solid, no blood no mucus, always in the a.m.  Then about two weeks ago I started getting softer more frequent stools in the morning.  Slowly but surely things began to slide down hill.  Than yesterday is when everything crashed, diaherra like pure water everytime I eat or drink anything.  No blood or mucus but man, I'm talking about I took my zinc vitamin pill this a.m. and it came out 30 minutes later.  Just so happens that my regular two year colonoscopy is tomorrow a.m.   My prep starts at 3 today.  It should be a breeze, I mean what possibly more can come out?  Well, gotta to mix that Movi Prep and get it chilled.  To think that I spent $20 on Movi Prep that at this point in the game a cup of coffee would of given me the same results!

I think you'll be unpleasantly surprised by how much will come out. Stay really close to the bathroom, and good luck.

Yes, and I mean really close to the bathroom!

I was running clear when it came time for the second round, so I thought I was smart and skipped the second. The result was an inadequate prep, and now I need to have another scope in a year just to be sure nothing was hidden.

Get out of Dodge! I didn't know that .... you know some people talk about not taking the full dose because they are smaller in size so they don't have to. Personally I thought that as long as you were running clear you were cleaned out. Not anymore, I'm taking the full dose if it kills me.

At least you have the full time, when I had to get my colonoscopy it was kind of an emergency so they had me do all the prep in like half the time >.< lol

That's a fact Jack Dr-A. I got two liters of Movi Prep chilling and am wondering if I will be able to get to the second one in refrigerator after I finish up the first. I am telling you - this is such a shame what we have to go through with medical testing - it almost seems barbaric in a way. My son is 8 and he had to go with me and his father when his father needed a colonoscopy. He was allowed in to see his dad and was there when the doctor showed us the pictures of his colon. Which by the way were clean as a whistle (mind you his father passed from colon cancer and his sister is known as a "polyp producer" on her last scope they found 12 polyps and 8 the year before that). But the doctor said to me and my husband that colonosopy is an excellent screening tool for over the age of 50 if colon cancer runs in the family. My 8 year old looked at the doctor and said "is somone going to have to shove a tube up my hinie hole when I turn 50?". The doctor looked at him and said "I don't know - we will have to wait and see". Good Lord, if the medical establishment hasn't developed a more human set up for colon screening in 50 years than our kids are in trouble.

You think I'm rambling now ---- wait until I take that first glass of MoviPrep in the next 40 minutes! LOL

2nd cup down ... who ever discontinued the phososoda ought to be shot.  One bottle of that stuff and you were good to go.  2 liters is too much to drink.  Honest to heaven - if this isn't what the Windex with Lime taste like ... I don't know what is! LOL!

oh my goodness this sucks....I am so happy I can complain here. I don't think I will ever be able to smell the scent of lemon again......I have finished glass #3 and have another beside me now to drink a little at a time becasue gulping it all at once is bad......hmmm I think law breakers should have to do this as punishment. Anyway how you guys doing? I will put off having another colonoscopy if the prep is gonna be this vile. The last time I did it with phoso soda it was so easy done in 1/2 an hour. The comment about slimy goat spit is accurate! LOL

The phoso soda worked by now, I drank 4 so far and just measured out five more.....I can't even imagine trying to down those five big glasses. I am ready to burst. At least I am (excuse the grossness) burping fresh lemon burps...one upside I guess. On for glass 5...see you in a bit....

Ok, in the msit of all my pain I come across a brain storm .... You know when you have the colonoscopy done they give you that drug that makes you forget everything that happened. They need to give that along with the prep. WHO THE HECK WANTS TO REMEMBER THIS!

Probably the bloating will be better by then, because you'll be flushing most of that liquid in the meantime. If not, I'd just wait another hour to start it. You might not get any sleep tonight, but then you'll be taking a nice restful nap tomorrow, right?

Ooh, I don't think Versed would be so good for the prep - even if it didn't make you sleep, you might forget you needed to stay really close to the bathroom!

Great, now the dog wants me to stop what I'm doing and feed him ... what do I look like a magician? Oh know, next liter is coming around in 20 minutes (I may HAVE to be a magician to get that down)

Haha. It's always a rough deal. I was just glad I had a laptop and a fresh pack of cigarettes. I did the whole 12 hours in the bathroom and those two crutches made it a lot easier. Hang in there.

And try drinking the prep through a straw, sucking it into the back of your mouth. That way you don't taste it so much.

Ok, I just finished my first cup on my second liter. I like you Judy am running clear but I am going to finish up this second liter cause I don't want to be told tomorrow that I am not properly cleaned out and to come back. Now remember I did have diaherra since yesterday afternoon anyway so personally I thought I was cleaned out even before I started the prep! I don't have a laptap that I can take into the bathroom but I do get breaks in the action wherein I can put in a load of laundry, feed the dog, come on the computer, take out the trash (although I did have to do a butt squeeze and run back on that one). When I am in the bathroom my son insists that I play the Polar Bowling Nintendo DS Download with him as he sits outside the bathroom door. So, that is my form of entertainment while on the throne. Drat! Seven Minutes till the second cup. Is there no justice in life?

Oh I don't know guys this is getting very touch and go over here. I just finished up the second cup of the second liter. I have two more cups to go. Problem is that at this point it is taking everything in me to not throw up this stuff up after I drink it. Holy Christopher what if I can't do the last two cups and I'm not cleaned out tomorrow and he tells me to redo the prep and come back next week! Ok, now I'm having hallucinations ..

ooops meant GUYS....don't you just feel like a winner now that all that drink is gone....thank goodness for the internet because by talking and griping about it, it sure made it easier. Can you imagine this.....colon prep parties at a school gym (where they have enough stalls to accommodate)....... hmmmm great sitcom sketch. Pick your own flavor of choice, with chug a "go~lytely" games and a bar tender serving up our next dose.....Hey anything to get you through it I'd say! Right. Ok have a good evening and best results for all of you tomorrow. Thanks for the chatting!
