My workout in remission was 5 days/week aerobics (elliptical) plus heavy weights (3 sets of 10). I'm so bad now that a walk around the block is all I can handle. I'll start back at the gym with medium weights (1 set of 20) followed by a brisk walk or easy ellipse.
I think sit-ups and crunches would aggravate your gut so I more work other things. I agree to avoid straining and err on the side of rest.

Xanax, Valium for anxiety
Tegretol XR for epilespy
Prednisone got me a college degree, job, marriage and kids
