The reason I am taking it is because of the clinical trial you mentioned. I believe it was 1.5 grams meslamine v. mutaflor. No control group(placebo only) and no group receiving both.
I should probably just cowboy up and stop taking asacol. Try the cocktail listed in my signature. I have had no luck even finding a decent primary care` doctor let alone a good specialist that is taking appointments this decade so I will probably end up doing that. Really don't want to spend 9 months circling the drain again either.
a lot of people stay in remission without treatment and many require more than 1.5 gr mesalimine to stay in remission. It would be ashame if mutaflor and asacol counter attacked each other. $200/month for nothing
I am holding off on VSL#3 because I just can't afford it. I am working on creating a yogurt with as many probiotics as possible as an alternative.
Reality is that no traditional drug or alternative has been tested more than a year(I think?) so it is just a guessing game.
