Hey all-I have a question about a supplement I take, Femtrol. I take it because ever since being on pred, my cycles have been very screwed up, and this is supposed to help. not sure if it is or not, but I digress.
So my hubby and I have NOT been trying to have another baby (though we do want another at some point), but on NYE, we had too much to drink and were not in the least bit careful. I apologize for the TMI. Anyway, NYE was about day 12 or 13 of my cycle, I forget exactly when my last one started, so while I am not sure I can conceive right now, being that my cycles have been so off, they are regular (27-29 days), and being that we used nothing, I know there will be a chance of pregnancy along with our stupidity, even if the chance is slight.
My question is then...this supplement has some things in it that are contraindicated during pregnancy-one of the ingredients (dong quai) has been known to be used to induce miscarriage, though at a higher dose than is in my supplement. So while we are not trying and this wouldn't be an ideal time for us, I definitely wouldn't want to do anything to jeopardize a pregnancy if it should occur. So, do you think I should stop taking the supplement as a precaution until my period shows up, or wait and see, and stop taking it only if need be?
Thanks for your input...
