Im in the 1/3 that flares.
Diagnosed right after my first pregnancy.
I took 6mp while trying to concieve my second. (advised by my GI, OB and perinatologist).
I flared as soon as i got pregnant (tho we did do injectables and IUI to get pregnant, so possible stress over that? or pregnancy hormones were culprit). I used pred through out my pregnancy.
My docs opinions differed from kazygirl's. When i first flared, early in my pregnancy i was told i could possibly miscarry. Hence the pred usage. I was also warned that uncontrolled UC and cause increased risk for premature labor/delivery. (not sure of all the reasons for this, but dehydration would be a big cause for contractions, as well as maternal illness). I was already high risk for premature delivery as my first was born at 33 wks after going into labor at 28 and 30wks (thankfully stopped by meds).
I did go into labor the second pg, at 25wks (again stopped) and with pred, complete bedrest, and 12 L&D trips for contraction control, i held on till 34wks.
I hope all of you do well during/after your pregnancies. It was a rough go for me, but i am blessed with two beautiful children who were worth all the time, pain, ect in the world.
