Here's my 2 cents: everyone is telling you what works for them but it seems that everyone has a different story.
Some people think diet doesn't matter to UC (I think it does because my symptoms are better with a modified SCD diet)
Some people think the drug they are taking is the best but you have to find out what works best for you.
Some people think fiber is good (I have trouble with it and keep it to a minimum. It's necessary but not too much for me or C happens) (That's "constipation"
Some people have better doctors who communicate well and others learn more on this forum than from their doctors.
The BEST thing about
this forum is that you can ask questions about
anything UC related and someone has tried it and can tell you their experience. And you can talk about
stuff you can't talk about
with ANYONE else.
Other places on the internet want to SELL you their "cure". That won't happen here.
Be patient with yourself and be kind to yourself because except for surgery almost nothing works fast to fix UC.
But this is a good place to read what other people have had success with and then you can see what works for you.
Keep a journal: for food, medications and any supplements to track your history. Memory plays tricks so don't rely on it.
