Thanks again to all responding.
JayBee - just read your story (the thread you closed) and what your are going through. Wish you a quick recovery from C-Diff and that will hopefully bring the remission. Seems like once you are in remission you pretty much know what to do, or at least have a good idea. I have been seen here at the hospital by several different visiting doctors this past weekend while my GI was off and they all are so different. Some are so attentive and show empathy and that itself already helps. Others couldn't even stay for more than two minutes to answer an extra question. It is very important that you find a doctor you are comfortable with. That should take care of most of the stress you're getting (not mentioning the care itself).
As for me, I am still here at the hospital and looks like will be here for few more days. I can't say I am not responding to the IV pred as the number of BM's is less but I still have painfull urges, pain while "moving", & still have the D. My doctor thinks that I am responding but slowly and hoping the trend continues. They are thinking about
a colonoscopy and weighing med/surgery alternatives if the pred fails.
Diagnosed with UC mid 2009 (severe, whole colon)
Remission with Prednisone (various doses at various times)
Maintenance - Apriso - 4/Day
