I'm a single parent of a beautiful, smart little 4 year old princess. I take great care of her and since I want her to live the healthiest lifestyle she can live I have her eat similar to me. That means lots of fruits, vegetables, meats and not very much junk foods or sugars. I can count on my hands how many sodas or Happy Meals I've baught her for her entire life.
What really concerns me is that she had a kidney infection about a month or two ago and had to take antibiotics for a week and now it seems that the infection is back. I don't want her to take any more antibiotics but she has to do what her Dr recommends tomorrow at her appointment. So I have been giving her "Kid's Primal Defense" and "Yum Yum Dophilis" as well as dairy products with active cultures.
Another major concern I have is that I think she may have food allergies. The reason I believe this is because her mother can not eat fruit or vegetables or dairy. Also, when I get her back after a night at her mother's she often has tiny amounts of blood and/or mucus. I know these are UC like symtoms but the only time she gets them are when she comes back home. This scares and worries me like crazy. What also frustrates me is that her mother is not always clear when I ask exactly what our child ate during the visit. Like this last weekend she said my duaghter ate a chocolate easter egg... Hmmm, I think she's eaten chocolate with me and didn't have symptoms before. I know she probably ate something else because I dropped her off in the evening and then her mother dropped her off at her friends house and probalby went out partying. She told me she got called in to work but I don't trust her.
So I'm wondering how to get the most out of my daughters appointment with her pediatrician tomorrow. I've told the Doctor before about her UC like symptoms and she knows I have UC and she doesn't really seem too concerned, probably because she hears about these type of sypmtoms from little kids a lot.
The reason I don't think it's UC is because the frequency of symptoms correlates to certain events and diet seems to clear things up immediatly. Also because of her mother's food allergies. Plus I know I got UC in one day and it didn't show up as gradual symptoms. I know my duaghter gets confused and may get stressed when she switches housholds but she has more understanding about what happens with her parents now and doesn't show stress during these times anymore. I'm kind of confused about all this and if anyone has any thoughts please let me know. Thanks.
