Hell what kind of care have you had!
I live in Sussex and if my weight was as low as yours i'd be classed as anorexic, get yourself down to A & E, give them your symptoms and i bet you would be admitted immediately. Any good specialist worth their weight would endeavour to have you put on weight before considering surgery. I can understand your frustration i get so pissed at my consultant allways pushing steroids at me i just laugh at them now and do what i feel is right for me with every flare. The only meds i take now is Colifoam and probiotics from holland and barrett called Probio7 with 10 billion bacteria in them. I also have Roseacea on my chest and face and in my eyes so i take Oxytetracycline 4 X 250 a day for 3 months.
If you ever want someone to go with you for support to appointments i will travel and go with you for moral support, sometimes you just need to push a little to get the best treatment the NHS is great but you need to push as every one is on a budget.
By the way i was first diagnosed in 1986 went into remission for 22 years and the bugger came back in 12/09, i am now nearly out of the flare i have achieved this with a near vegan diet and lots of exercise. My colitis displays after initial loose bowels into chronic constipation so losing weight is difficult for me i tend to put it on hence why i stay away from steroids.
