As long as you remain in remission then your intolerance to mesalamine may be a blessing in disguise. I am also allergic to mesalamine and try to remain in remission by watching my diet and taking probiotics and supplements.
Remission without the possible side effects of mesalamine is great as long as we remain in remission. I hope we don't have to face a future flare that may require a more potent drug with even worse possible side effects. That is why will power is no longer an issue for me and I really am careful how I eat.
No Meds. Allergic to Mesalamine. Psyllium seed is very effective for me.
Boswellia, E. Sometimes VSL3. Diet includes copious amounts of fruit and vegetables, no soda, tea instead of coffee, very few processed foods, no carrageenan.
