Fun OT ? Where to take a vac/long weekend with husband? suggestions?

I seem to be improving. I am a little nervous to travel becaus of urgency though. but I am looking forward to a much needed, short trip with my husband this fall. I am willing to fly, am thinking around 4-5 days. Not too expensive, but not super cheap either. We want to wander around and sight see, eat and just relax and have fun. Any suggestions?! I'm super excited about something for once in a long time.

Hi Micky...not sure where you live but we are in Dutchess county NY and it is the most BEAUTIFUL place to be in the fall because of the
foliage. There are numerous hotels & some really great smaller quaint B&B's for you to stay. Hudson Valley in the fall cannot be beat!!!

The week before last, I took a cruise from Miami to Cozumel, Mexico. It was exactly what I needed - restful - access to toilets, plenty of fun things to do (shows, karaoke, dancing, gambling, spa) or just hang by the pool, which I did since this was a "girlfriends-getaway". Then, you get off the ship you are in some amazing place - the Carribean water was dreamy, the Mayan ruins were fascinating. And the total cost, since it was booked last-minute was $242 (after taxes and gratuities, closer to $340) for 5 days, 4 nights.
I don't consider myself a "cruise person" (always been a hiker/adventurer), but since I an still anemic and a little weak, plus I being a little unsure of my bowels, this was perfect.

BTW, my bowels seemed to like being on vacation and without stress. Wherever you go, as long as you relax you'll have a blast! Have fun!
