Wow, it's nice to see someone else relating to this, I thought I was the only one!
I have as well gotten these pains my whole life but never knew what they were and because they were so infrequent just shrugged them off. Your pain sounds exactly like what I'm getting, intense, almost stabbing, very short, but I can hardly move when they occur.
I actually told my GI about the pains before my colonoscopy because I had actually gotten them pretty severely right before I came in for my appointment, how ironic, ha ha. Anyway, he didn't seem concerned about the pain, basically shrugging it off. We didn't talk much about it but I did tell him the severity and exactly what I was feeling. I guess it just comes with the territory of the disease.
I can sometimes feel them coming on, like this morning, so if I'm sitting like I usually am at work, I'll get up and try and walk around or stand for awhile. That seemed to help today. When it's full on pains though, I can hardly stand so I guess you have to catch it before it fully strikes! I'm feeling better now, phew.
I have a follow up next month with my GI, I think I'll bring it up again and delve a bit deeper (no pun intended) into the pains.
