No blood since Friday afternoon (it's now Sunday evening).
2 stools yesterday, one so far today, fairly well formed even though I'm without Metamucil for these 5 pre-scope days. (Traditional powder, 2 heaping tablespoons per day.)
I'm taking LOTS of probiotics - !!
Quincy, I've read the literature, I promote Rowasa - but frankly, it's never gotten me out of a flare. I've felt inflammation coming on and have done Rowasa even twice a day for a month or more and have steadily gone downhill in blood, frequency, urgency. So... I'd figured years ago they didn't help me, and I've been giving them a good try since being at HW, but they really don't seem to do much for me. I'll do them twice weekly re the long term benefits, as long as they don't actually hurt. I do hope to be proven wrong at some point! lol
I had lowered the asacol very slowly and raised it back slowly.... I've been doing 15 pills a day for three weeks and today I did my old 16.
Red - I get to do the Miralax, yay! - though my doc isn't using it too much anymore since (he said) someone got dehydrated and sued their doctor. I promised to drink till I float.
Ima/Q- interesting re the Balsalazide. Maybe I'll stay the course. I went from UP to pancolitis on sulfasalazine and have been on asacol about
17 years (pancolitis 1991.)
I'd thought of calling my GI because... my old GI would have wanted to know if I was doing differently than I had been at the pre-scope office visit, that's all. But..... it's like Friday was a blip and all is fine again.
Sigh, thanks to Cortenemas.
Ima - I just started some yogurt with VSL for the first time. I am very, very intrigued! Hope it works. I love the homemade, 24-hour brewed yogurt.....
Gosh, what a great thing this forum is, all you folks are.......!
